Fifteen mobile veterinary hospitals have been inaugurated in the Nagpur division by Animal husbandry and dairy development minister Sunil Kedar. On the occasion, Kedar informed that more Mobile veterinary hospital will be started by the animal husbandry department in every tehsil to provide treatment to the livestock of farmers at their place at a nominal fee.
On the occasion, zilla parishad president Rashmi Barve, chief executive officer Yogesh Kumbhejkar, vice-chancel. lor of Maharashtra Sunil Animal & Kedar Fishery Sciences University Dr Ashish Paturkar, additional CEO Dr Kamalkishor Futane, deputy district animal husbandry commissioner Dr Manjusha Pundlik, district health officer Dr Deepak Selokar and deputy CEO Pramila Jakhlekar were present.
Initially 15 mobile veterinary hospitals for Nagpur division have been started in first phase. Among these, three will be in Nagpur district.
There are many problems in treating cattle in rural area. The farmers will have to call on toll free number 1962 for taking benefit of this service. The hospital will reach to their farmers and very low fee will be charged.
Kedar said that bird flu is under control in region and farmers have no danger from it. None has died due to this ailment. Any poultry farm suffers huge damage if only one bird gets infected by bird flu. But more damage is caused due to rumours, he added.
