Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s nuisance detection squad on Wednesday inspected the 90 marriage halls, lawns coming under all ten zones. Marriage halls, offices, lawns as well as crowded places could be hotspots in the city given the growing corona infection. Considering this danger, Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has issued strict orders to take strict action against marriage halls.
On Tuesday, search teams raided seven halls and collected fines of Rs 37,000. The wedding was not seen in any of the halls on Wednesday. The Municipal Commissioner on Tuesday issued an order using the Infectious Diseases Act 1897, Disaster Management Act 2005. Under this, the penalty for violating the rules by gathering crowds has been increased. The event venue manager violating covid rules, not using masks, sanitizers will be fined Rs 15,000 for the first time if a crowd gathers. A fine of Rs 25,000 will be levied for the second time and Rs 50,000 for the third time. As of now a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed.
