Nagpur Municipal Corporation authorities have carried out searches on 267 marriage halls and lawns during the last three days. Twenty people were booked and a total fine of Rs 1,89,000 was collected during the search operation. In view of fast rise in Corona positive cases in the city, the raids were carried out by the civic authority.
The State Government has issued instructions to take stern action against those violating the rules. In most of the cases more than 200 persons were attending the marriage, without observing social distancing and wearing masks. The action was initiated under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B and Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi.Â
