Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhav Thakarey, did not impose lockdown, rumours of which were being spread. However, he has appealed to people to use mask, use sanitizers and maintain social distancing. He will observe preventive care by people for a week and then will decide about further action.
Instead of again putting pressure on government machinery, everyone should understand his/her own responsibility. He coined another slogan ‘Mee Jawabdar’– I am responsible, for controlling further spread of the dreaded virus.Â
Thackeray, in his address expressed concern over sudden rise in Corona virus infection during the last week. The present situation is more serious compared to what was earlier, when the pandemic was at its peak.
The Government Machinery took efforts to control the spread of infection. But with relaxation people have started ignoring the preventive measures. This has resulted in sudden rise in cases. The testing laboratories were increased, more number of beds and ventilators, adequate ambulances were made available.
In Mumbai the number of active cases has increased from around 40,000 to 53,000. He said that situation in Amravati, Akola, Washim etc is serious and local authorities can take decision and impose restrictions.
In Maharashtra 6971 new cases have been reported today. Starting local trains, starting other economic activities were essential. However, negligent attitude should not restrict these activities. Thackeray said that people should be sensible to understand their own responsibility, sacrifice of the Corona Warriors. About 9 lakh Front Line Warriors have been vaccinated so far.
Vaccine for others will be available soon. Thackeray did not forgot to mention about Centre’s decision on exporting vaccine to other countries. South Africa has returned some of them. He said that two more companies have agreed to supply vaccines. Very soon it will be available for common people.
