Despite the rising number of corona cases, people are found to be violating the precautionary measures and ignoring appeals made by the administration time and again. Taking quick decision to control the spread of the virus has also decided to revive COVID Care Centres (CCC). Taking a cue from the first wave, the administration thought it fit to be in readiness so that if there is a sudden surge in cases.
On February 23, the district reported 691 fresh cases taking the total number of positive cases to 144534. Today 8 people succumbed to the virus-borne disease taking the tally of deaths to 4291.
As per the official report, out of the total positive cases, 38 were from rural areas and 551 from Nagpur city alone. Meanwhile, from the total deaths, 5 were reported from Nagpur city and 2 from outside the district, and 1 the rural areas.
After the fresh updates, the total active cases in the city now stand at 6468 including asymptomatic cases advised for home isolation.
With 477 recoveries in the day, the cumulative number of recovered cases rose to 133775 (including 65010 home isolation recoveries). The recovery rate recorded today was 92.56% percent.
Today’s 691 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.

Municiapl Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has also listed some new hotspots in city including Jaripatka, Jafar Nagar, Friends Colony, New Bidipeth, Swalambi Nagar, Khamla Sindhi Colony, Dighori, Wathoda, Laxmi Nagar, Ayodhya Nagar as case load in these residential colonies has increased drastically.
