Registered hospitals are currently operating in Nagpur under the Maharashtra Nursing Home Registration Act, 1949. The Maharashtra Nursing Home Registration Rules 1973 and the amendments made under the existing Nursing Home Registration Rules 1973 have come into force in the State of Maharashtra from January 14 this year. In accordance with the notification published in the Gazette on  January 14, 2021, it is mandatory for all registered hospital owners in Nagpur city to implement the revised rules and it is mandatory to carry out medical business under the mentioned provisions, said Sanjay Chilkar.
The rules include the physical structure and criteria of the nursing home, the minimum requirements for the nursing home, the minimum requirements for the operating room, the minimum requirements for the intensive care unit, the minimum requirements for the maternity ward, emergency medical services, handing over the dead body to close relatives. The details of the revised rules in this regard have been mentioned in the Gazette.
Registration and renewal will be charged according to the number of beds in the nursing home. Rs.5000/- for Class A Plus and A Class Nurses, Rs.4500/ – for Class B Municipal Corporations, Rs.4000/ – for Class C Municipal Corporations, Rs.3500/ – for Class D Municipal Corporations, Rs.3000/ – for Municipal, Nagar Parishad, Nagar Panchayat Regions. A nursing home with more than five beds will be charged an additional fee at the above rate for each of the five additional beds. 25% of the fee charged for pre-registration or renewal of nursing home renewal.
