Recently the state government has decided to revive the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT).In view of this it has decided to increase the budget almost double. As per information, the layouts which were handed over to Nagpur Municipal Corporation will now be returned to NIT.Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi on Wednesday presented a budget worth Rs.606.96 crore.As per details, NIT budget for the year 2020-21 was worth Rs. 308.47 crore.It is expected from the budget that an income of Rs.125 crore would be made from the Gruha Nirman Programme.
Besides this, by giving plots and shops on rent,Rs.75 crore can be added to NIT’s income.Similarly,an income of Rs.70 crore is expected from 572 and 1900 layouts. A provision of Rs.107 crore for the development works has been made in the budget. This fund will be spent for the development of Dalit Colonies Reforms Scheme. On-Dalit Colony Reforms Scheme, LA-MP Fund,e-Library in Manewada,Islamic Cultural Centre, Maharashtra Swarna Jayanti Nagrotthan Maha Abhiyan etc. And the sources of budget will be obtained from investment deposit of Rs.374.26 crore, Rs.133.78 crore from revenue and Rs.47.70 crore from deposit amount. The expenditure of last financial year was Rs.374.47 crore.This includes revenue expenditure of Rs.145.34 crore.A total of Rs.602.88 crore including Rs.73.07 crore of advances and investments will be spent on development work.
