The civic authority of the city all set to increase the ready reckoner or annual rent for the holders who have taken plots in lease from NMC.As per information, the holders have to pay 8 percent of ready reckoner or annual rent as per market value, which ever is higher soon. This increase will be 400 times. And a proposal in this regard will be moved in the general body meeting of NMC that will be held on March 19.
As per the gazette published by the urban development of Maharashtra government on October 13,2019,new rules will be implemented as per provision in Maharashtra Municipal Corporations(Amendment) Act,2019.At present,0.02 percent rent of ready reckoner is charged from lease holders. As per new rule,8 percent rent of ready reckoner will be charged. If plot holders want to renew lease, the civic administration will have to be informed in written form three months before the end of agreement. The renewal of lease will be for maximum ten years. If the transfer of lease is not done as per the rule, the plot will be taken back as per new rule.
