As the district struggles with an explosion of novel coronavirus cases, the city’s situation became grimmer on Wednesday as it recorded 3370 fresh cases, the highest one-day rise this year, and 16 deaths, an official release said.
The caseload in the district rose to 17,87,56 and death toll reached 4505. The recovery rate recorded today was 85.67 percent.
As many as 1216 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total of recoveries to 153133 including 81400 home recoveries.
Today’s 3370 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.
AIIMS (391), GMC (502), IGGMC (414), NEERI (117), RTMNU (200) Private Lab (1617) and Antigen (129).
The consistent rise in COVID 19 positive figures is an indication that the virus is spreading with a faster pace. Secondly, people are blatantly violating the rules made to control the spread. The situation is alarming and threat of total lockdown looms large on the entire region.
