Dr Nitin Raut, Guardian Minister of Nagpur and Maharashtra Energy Minister after having meeting with all party representatives and top administrative officials informed the media that the lockdown has been extended till March 31. Dr Raut said, all shops will remain open till 4pm. Restaurants and eateries will remain open till 7 pm, while they are permitted for home delivery till 11pm.
Emphasizing that the condition was serious looking at the daily spike in Corona cases, Dr Raut added that efforts will be taken to increase the number of vaccination in the district. He said, “We are targeting 10 lakh vaccination in the district. We will be increasing 150 centers in the rural as well as urban parts of the district very soon.â€
Dr Raut also added that police were given orders to be strict on people roaming without any work on road. “The police must act like a warrior, in the pandemic situation,†he said. He also added that samples of patient were sent to Mumbai, for testing to see that there is no strain of new Corona, which was found in one lady coming to city from Wardha.
He added that the District Collector and Municipal Commissioner were empowered to take action, for the prevention of the diseases. He appealed to the people to co-operate with the administration in the pandemic time, and follow the guide lines issued by the administration from time to time. “Mee Javabdar (I am responsible) is the slogan of the state Government, which we must follow,†Dr Raut said.
