Spike continues in Nagpur district with 3679 new COVID-19  cases, 29 deaths

Nagpur district is witnessing a rising number of new COVID-19 positive cases for last nine days. Despite the sudden spike of new COVID-19 cases, the death count was not worrisome. But from last two days, the district is witnessing hike in   deaths count too. On Saturday Nagpur district register  29 deaths in one single day with 17 from city while 9 person became victims to this dreaded virus in Nagpur rural. This has mounted the cumulative death count to 4529.

The daily rise in COVID-19 deaths and positive cases has added to the worries of administration to healthcare bosses to common citizens. The new cases of COVID-19 in district are con stantly rising. On Saturday, 3,679 tested positive for coronavirus in one single day. Nagpur city reported 2826 cases while 850 tested positive for coronavirus fromNagpur rural.

This is the eighth day of lockdown in Nagpur district but no reduction in new COVID-19 cases is being experienced. With low recovery count and rise in number of new cases the active cases have crossed 27,000 mark. The number of active cases stood at 27,625.

The COVID-19 recovery is low as compared to new COVID-19 cases. With  1595 persons becoming free the cumulative recovery reached 157249.

The testing count be it of RTPCR or antigen is continuously increasing each day. Meanwhile the existing lockdown in Nagpur has been extended till March 31, 2021.
