A small bridge on the Maharajbagh Road, which was supposed to have been completed in 18 months, is still not ready even after four years. The reason behind the non-completion of the bridge is that the research report of the bridge has not been handed over to Dhantoli Zone office and hence the amended proposal is yet to be accepted.
As per the information certain changes have been made in the report and a new proposal has been developed with an additional expense of Rs1.5 crores for the bridge.
Construction of the bridge started in 2018 with a cost of about 3.50 crore. Later some new aspects were added to its design. In 2020, the work came to a standstill due to the lock down.
Due to delay in paper work, was put on one side of the old bridge and iron cage was put on the other side, but concreting could not be done on it. As a result, the iron cage (made out of TMT bars) rusted. However, a new bridge has been constructed on one side and vehicular movement has started over it. But trees are coming right in front of both the bridges being built on either side of the old bridge.
Currently, the foundation work is going on. After the new bridge is ready on both sides of the old bridge, the old bridge will be broken and a new one will be constructed on it.
