The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIMN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Westminster Business School, University of Westminster (United Kingdom), in a virtual ceremony on Wednesday. Dr Katalin Illes (Associate Head, WBS), Dr Karen Jackson (Assistant Head of School), Dr Sumita Ketkar, Senior Lecturer (Leadership and Development), represented the Westminster Business School at the occasion.
Following a welcome address by Prof. Rahul Kumar Sett (Faculty, Marketing), Dr Ketkar took the podium to express her optimism about the new avenues for collaboration that the MoU opened up for IIMN and WBS. She mentioned that the two institutions are poised to partner for fruitful engagements such as joint research and teaching, student exchanges, and international immersion.
Dr. Jackson echoed her sentiment, relating her positive experience during an earlier symposium conducted at IIM Nagpur. Dr. Katalin Illes emphasized quality over the quantity of engagements, mentioning that WBS focuses on forging partnerships based on a solid foundation of shared values.
Dr. Illes also acknowledged the value of research combined with industry application and expressed her hope for students of both institutions to benefit from the collaboration. Dr. Bhimaraya Metri (Director, IIM Nagpur), then addressed the gathering.
In his address, he mentioned that a great moment was being witnessed and a new era will start between IIMN and WBS, UK. The MoU would result in setting new benchmarks in management education by way of impactful, quality engagement and research, joint programmes and knowledge-sharing opportunities between the two institutions. He also acknowledged the efforts of Prof Sett and Prof Deeparghya Mukherjee for materializing the collaboration. Prof Mukherjee expressed his hope for the engagement to facilitate student exchange and immersion activities between IIMN and WBS.
