Amid rapid surge in coronavirus cases, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is likely to address a press conference at 8:30 PM tonight.
‘Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will address people of the state today at 8:30 PM’, informed Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar today.
Speaking to reporters, Pednekar hinted at imposing additional restrictions in the state to control the situation. Nobody wants lockdown but keeping in mind the manner in which cases are rising and creating pressure on the health infrastructure, some strict measures will have to be taken.
It is worth mentioning here, that Maharashtra is witnessing second wave of the deadly virus. On Thursday it reported 43,183 cases in single day which is highest in the state so far. The daily covid data is worrisome for the state administration as problems like shortage of beds and ventilators is also being seen. This is a matter of concern and therefore a strict action at this stage is much needed.
