After the surge in Covid positive cases in district especially in rural areas, the district administration has decided to start a District Covid Health Centre (DCHC) with 50-50 oxygen beds in the district. Under this plan Kamptee and Subtech Hospital of Ramtek have been selected. As per information, District Surgeon Dr.Devendra Paturkar visited these hospitals. After the inspection, it has now been decided to convert these hospitals into Covid Health Centres so as to facilitate the treatment of patients in the rural areas.
Hospitals have also been informed about this new order. In these two centres, patients with acute symptoms will be given initial treatment and will be sent to government hospitals for further investigation. The point to be noted here is that the number of deaths in rural areas is also increasing fast due to lack of treatment facilities. Though private hospitals in rural areas have been allowed to treat Covid patients, people in rural areas are not able to afford lakhs of rupees for hospital treatment.
