As Covid cases in the city are rapidly rising, RT- PCR test has also increased and due to this, citizens have to wait for 2-3 days to get their reports.
Considering the backlog of test reports and other technical reasons, the administration has decided to conduct only Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at government testing centres on April 12 and 14.
However, it is taking 5-6 hours to get the test result of RAT. Similarly, test result of RT-PCR is taking 4-5 days to come out. Due to this, patients are facing great difficulties to get treatment.
If the patient gets it Covid test result soon, it becomes very conducive for him to take treatment. But, due to increased testing, work load in Medical, Mayo, AIIMS and University laboratories has drastically increased.
It is reportedly taking 2-3 days for Covid test reports to come out. So, in order to cover the testing backlog and to remain safe from suspected patients, municipal corporation will only conduct RAT on April 12 and 14 at all 42 government testing centres. Following this, only RATS were con ducted on Monday These tests were conducted at a testing centre in Zingabai Talk.
However, it took 5-6 hours to get the results of tests (RAT) done on Monday. A patient who underwent testing at 9.30 am on Monday, received his RAT report after 3.30 pm. Hence, the decision taken by the government to con duct RAT tests seems to be failing.
