India registered 2,59,170 new COVID-19 cases and 1,761 deaths in the last 24 hours, the data by the Union Health Ministry showed on Tuesday (April 20, 2021) morning.
India’s total Active Caseload reached 20,31,977 today; comprises 13.26% of the total Positive Cases.
As per the official figures, there were also 1,54,761 coronavirus recoveries between Monday and Tuesday morning. While 5 States account for 62.07% of India’s total Active Cases. 10 States show an Upward Trajectory of Daily New Cases; account for 77.67% of the new cases registered in the last 24 hours (2,59,170). With Maharashtra being the worst affected state as it record 58,924 new coronavirus cases in Maharashtra with 351 more deaths toll reached 60,824.
With 2,59,170 new cases India count for total cases reached 1,53,21,089 with total recoveries 1,31,08,582 and the Death toll reached to 1,80,530 in the country.
9 States/UTs report No death in the last 24 hours. Ladakh, D&D & D&N, Tripura, Sikkim, Mizoram, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, A&N Islands and Arunachal Pradesh.
While the number of daily case may be high but India is constantly making big progress in the vaccination drive as total 12,71,29,113 people have been vaccinated. More than 32 lakh (32,76,555) vaccination doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
