As we know the citzens are facing the crisis due to the scarcity of oxygenated beds in the city.Amid this situation,the laxity of administration is also creating problem.The railways has developed a 29 –coach oxygenated facility for Covid patients which is not in use.And civic administration has not approached railways to make use of facility to treat Covid patients.In this matter,the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court had directed civic administration to contact railways immediately for making optimal use of the facility.Considering the grim situation of increasing Covid infection,railway coaches have been converted into quarantine centres.
The facility is also equipped with oxygen beds.Divisional Railway Manager,Central Railways Richa Khare had informed on April 9 that on the request of state government and NMC,quarantine centres could be made available for general public.However,no follow-up was done in this regard.The HC Â also points out the negligence of the civic body through a PIL.The court has already directed civic chief to contact railway administration immediately and make optimal use of the facility.
