While COVID-19 cases have declined in Nagpur city, other parts of Vidarbha are yet to get respite.
Wardha in Nagpur division is facing complete lockdown till May 18. The complete shutdown imposed from May 8 was supposed to partially open on May 13 (Thursday) but due to spike in positive cases, the authorities here decided to extend it till May 18.
The sudden rise in cases has put the district administration in distress. Wardha district which reported less than 100 cases during first wave, is now reporting more than 200 cases from last few day.
Wardha on Tuesday reported 793 fresh cases and 8 deaths with 24 hours. So far Wardha has registered 50752 positive cases. Meanwhile, the recovery count of the district is quite low which is a matter of concern.
We all know that the lockdown is imposed to contain the virus and protect people from getting infected. However, the long shutdown, is now troubling the citizens as vegetable markets and dairies are also closed. The food items are getting over and now the extension has added to the misery.
