The Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) has appealed to the people to help Ruchir Mishra’s family.
A member of the SJAN, Ruchir Mishra, senior sports journalist of The Times of India, passed away on May 4, 2021 at a private hospital in Nagpur.
Ruchir, 43, was a very popular sports reporter among the cricket fraternity. After playing a long innings of around two decades in sports journalism, Ruchir became victim of the dreaded Covid-19 virus. Before joining TOI in 2008, he had also worked with Dainik Bhaskar and The Hitavada.
A resident of Godhani, Ruchir is survived by wife Nitu, 13-year-old daughter Kuhu, seven-year-old son Kabir, parents, five siblings and host of relatives to mourn the loss.
In a press release issued by the SJAN secretary Suhas Nayse here on Sunday, he has appealed to the society particularly the sporting fraternity and cricketers to donate generously and help the Mishra family in this hour of big crisis. Donors can transfer the amount to the account of Ruchir’s wife Nitu Mishra.
