As we know the entire country is reeling under the clutches of Covid-19, to prevent the economic exploitation of Covid patients, the State Government had reserved 80 percent of the beds in private hospitals for Covid patients on government rates and had also given a rate list to private hospitals.
Besides all this, the private hospitals are openly flouting the norms led down by State Government and overcharging patients. The leader of opposition in NMC Tanaji Wanve has written to civic chief that all the patients undergoing treatment on 80 percent and 20 percent bed reserved in private hospitals, their bills above Rs.2 lakh should be audited. As per information, most of the private hospitals have charged over Rs.2 lakh to patients. These bills should be audited. And on what basis they have been charged should be clarified and these bills should be made public and justice should be given to the patients.
