Compliance with rules and following COVID norms set by healthcare authorities can keep the virus at bay is what these 59 villages of the district have taught us. If proper care and prevention are taken no pandemic can enter any locality or village.
When the report of surge in a particular village or tehsil of corona patients was on air from last March 2020 these 59 villages of the district has restricted the pandemic from entering into the village.
Yogesh Kumbharej, Chief Executive Officer of Nagpur Zilla Parishad, informed that not even a single case of corona positive patient was reported from these 59 villages. “It was collective efforts of the villagers, that they were able to keep the pandemic at bay from their village. Adhering to all Covid SOP’s, like maintaining social distance, use of face mask and village cleanliness. Even entry to a new person was given only after taking his body tempreture etc. made them successful in restricting the deadly virus from entering into the village,†He said.
Out of the 1,605 villages in the district 11 villages from Kotal thesil, 7 from Hingna tehsil, 3 from Kalmeshwar tehsil, 2 from Bhivapur tehsil, 2 from Kamptee tehsil, 6 from Mouda tehsil, 10 from Nagpur tehsil, 4 from Narkhed tehsil, 1 from Parshivni tehsil, 8 from Ramtek tehsil, 1 from Saoner tehsil, 4 from Umrer tehsil, where no positive patient of corona has been reported till date. All the other villages must take example of these 59 villages, Kumbharej said. He also appealed to villagers to contact nearest primary health center (PHC) or rural hospital in case of any disorder is seen.
