The Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court on Friday ordered petitioners advocate Shweta Burbure and photographer Ajay Tiwari to provide detailed information on Inter Modal Station (IMS) at Ajni Forest by June 14.The cases were heard before Justice Avinash Gharote. The petitioners on Friday restored to High Court to save the Ajni forest. It is planned to cut 4930 trees of Ajni forest for implementing the IMS project. Nagpur Municipal Corporation had issued notice in this regard on May 29.
The petitioners have requested the court to declare the notice as invalid. Also, they demanded that a committee of experts should be constituted to survey the number of trees in Ajni forest within three months. NMC had given 7 days’ time to raise objections over cutting of the first tree through a controversial notice. Due to this, it was not possible for the petitioners to collect necessary information regarding Ajni Forest and IMS project. The petitioners filed a petition in the High Court on the basis of the available information to save the tree. While the petition is pending, NMC has extended the deadline till June 30 to present objections
