Indian Railways has introduced an on-line payment system for freight on June 1. Payment of all charges
including freight and ancillary charges through this system has become simple, easy, fast and trans-
parent.
In the South East Central Railway (SECR) – Nagpur Division under the leadership of Maninder Uppal – Divisional Railway Manager ‘First payment successfully done through on-line payment system from Garha Goods Shed on Thursday.
‘On-line Payment System’ for freight in all goods sheds has been implemented with immediate effect. This online payment system will be made available through the payment gateway of SBI with Business Development System (FBD).
Freight and all ancillary charges like premium fee, wagon registration fee, late fee, wharfage, siding fee, shunting fee, re-facility has been provided for collection of booking fee, diversion fee etc.
The facility of railway freight will be available for customers 24×7.Time and money will be saved in making the demand draft.
Facility for use of NetBanking/ RTGS/NEFT etc has been provided, a press release informed.
Customers/second customers desirous of using this facility will be required to do Electronic Registration
of Demand (e-RD).
Under the policy, one has to register himself on the FBD portal as per the prescribed procedure for registration which is free.
