Former Union Minister of Heavy Industry Subodh Mohite, has tied watch to his hand. Mohite who was away from active politics from last few years, today i.e. June 25 joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), in the presence of its supremo Sharad Pawar, in Pune.
Mohite was a member of Shiv Sena of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Ramtek constituency from the district. He then left the on February 2007, due to issues with the party top leaders.
He then joined the Congress party and contested election of Lok Sabha on Congress ticket, but had to face a defeat. Mohite also tried his luck for the Vidhan Sabha (State Legislature) but had to face defeat here also.
His name was announced for a seat in the Vidhan Parishad, later but was unable to get it, as he could not reach in time. He was away from politics, since then.
NCP is spreading its arms in Vidarbha, especially in Nagpur district. Few days ago NCP leader and former Union Aviation Minister Prafull Patel, during his city tour had given entry to many local leaders in the party too.
