Probably for the first time, suggestions from people have been invited for correcting distortions in our history books. The step assumes great importance as the historians have often argued that correct history of India can be better studied in libraries in London.
Government of India has made an appeal to the people to provide information which can be verified and corrections in the books can be carried out.
This is being done to remove unhistorical facts and distortions about national heroes. New books will ensure equal representation of all periods in Indian history.
The suggestions can be given through e-mail to ‘rsc_hrd@sansad.nic.in’.
History in India has been distorted at many levels, either by omission or addition of imaginary stories about national heroes and events.
The suggestions can be posted by July 15.
