The process of interview for the post of registrar of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University started on Monday. On the first day, only 50 percent candidates were present. The interview of remaining candidates will be held on Today and the name of the new registrar is likely to be announced in the evening.
Many candidates applied for the post of registrar of RTMNU. Prominent among them were registrar Dr Anil Hirekhan, finance and accounts officer Dr Raju Hiwase, consultant of AICTE Dr Rajendra Kakde, director of student welfare Dr Abhay Mudgal, former registrar of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Dr Arvind Joshi, Bhushan Mahajan, Dr Shyam Koreti and others. Many also tried to use their political clout also.
The panel for interviews includes vice-chancellor, pro-vice-chancellor, nominated members of the governor, members of management council and two subject experts from other states.
Thirty eight candidates emerged eligible for the interviews. Interviews of 20 candidates were scheduled on the first day. Only ten candidates were present for the interviews, said sources.
