In a major development, Nagpur top cops caught two out of fours robbers who looted a Jaripathka based Avni Jellewery shop in broad daylight at gunpoint on Monday afternoon.
Nagpur Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar in a media briefing informed about the progress on robbery case where a jewellery shop was looted in broad daylight on Monday afternoon in Jaripathka area at gunpoint on Monday.
CP informed that two robbers were caught in joint efforts with the help of MP and UP Police force within 24 hours from Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday while the other two managed to escape with gold ornaments taking advantage of the dark. Cops have rounded up two Uttar Pradesh-based youths Virendrakumar Surdev Yadav (26) Deepak Rajkumar Tripathi (24). Police also seized one gun, two cartridges, two bikes that were stolen from Durg, Chhattisgarh, which was used in the crime, and some silver ornaments.
A team on Nagpur Police reached Seoni after receiving information that the accused have checked in at Prem Lodge and with the help of Katni Police and Jabalpur Police the cops chased the robbers and caught two accused.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon when four masked men entered Avni Jewellery shop at gunpoint and stole gold and silver ornaments a mobile phone and cash worth Rs 20,73,500.
