Leopard pug-marks were found in an area of Ordnance Factory Ambajhari (OFAj) on Friday. A Forest Department team soon reached the spot after receiving the information.
As per the information, security guards saw a movement of some animals in an area on Thursday night. After inspecting the spot on Friday morning, it was confirmed that the pug-marks were of leopard.
Forest officials have installed camera traps in the area to track the movement of the leopard. The Forest Department team and security guards at OFAj conducted a search operation in the area where the pug-marks were found.
On May 28 the leopard was first sighted at Gayatri Nagar in Nagpur, IT Park however The Forest department was unable to find the wild cat. While on June 2 a Pig was found dead near Maharajbagh and it was believed to be attacked by the leopard. However, no clear sign of leopard roaming, no pugmarks were found in all these places.
On June 8 with no sign of the leopard the forest department reached a conclusion that the leopard must have gone back to the Ambazari Biodiversity Park after being caught in one of the camera installed in the area.
