NSM’s Shri Binzani City College, Umrer Road, Nagpur, celebrated its 91st Foundation recently. President of Nagpur Shikshan Mandal, Shri Ashok Gandhi, presided over the function.
Secretary of NSM, Dr Harish Rathi and Secretary of Alumni Association, Dr Rajendra Watane,
graced the occasion. Principal Dr Sujit Metre forwarded the introductory remarks and welcomed
the guests.
The Foundation Day was celebrated by felicitation of the meritorious students who appeared
in the Merit List of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, examination of Summer 2019 and Summer 2020. The College has an impressive score of 21 Merit students in a span of two years and 4 Teachers who have stood in order of merit.
Dr Sandeep Tundurwar, Vice Principal of the College, bagged the Gold Medal in MA (Gandhian Thought) of Summer 2020. Prof Pooja Jaiswal and Prof Punam Bangade stood Second, and Prof Mona Chandak stood Ninth in order of merit of Summer 2020 MCM Exam.
The following students achieved success in Summer 2020 Examination held by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur: Ms Khushbu Gautam of MA (Pol Sc) stood First in order of Merit and bagged Four Gold Medals in the convocation held recently.
Rasika Choube (2nd Merit – MA Pol Sc), Pranali Patil (4th Merit – MA Pol Sc), Krishna Dahikar (7th Merit – MA Pol Sc), Ashwini Raghute (10th Merit – MA Pol Sc), Akanksha Chokhandre (4th Merit MA English), Priyanka Bais (2nd Merit – MA Marathi), Tanaya Zadkar (9th Merit – BA – Summer 2020) were also felicitated on the occasion.
The following students achieved success in Summer 2019 Examination held by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur: Renuka Pilare of MA (Pol Sc) stood First in order of Merit, Pravin Shidam (4th Merit – MA Pol Sc), Smita Raut (7th Merit – MA Pol Sc), Priyanka Wase (9th Merit – MA Pol Sc), Pradhyna Dudhe (2nd Merit – MA Marathi), Arpit Potdar (5th Merit – MA Marathi), Pallavi Meshram (7th Merit – MA Marathi), Nikita Rangari ( 9th Merit – MA Marathi), Nikita Bonde (10th Merit – MA Marathi), Priyanka Dharpure (7th Merit – MA English), Shweta
Gadge (8th Merit – MA English), Priya Bhave (9th Merit – M.Com), Yogita Hinganekar (10th Merit –M.Com).
In the program, Ex-Prime Minister of India Shri P. V. Narasimha Rao, who was an Alumnus of the College, was commemorated. A copy of his portrait was released at the hands of Shri Ashok Gandhi.
The College held various programs throughout the year as a mark of respect and recognition in his honour.
On the occasion, a Tree Adoption Drive was organized by ‘HIRWAई’, the Nature Club and IQAC of the College.
The Tree Adoption Drive was a Social Initiative with people from Society adopting a tree and naming them after their near and dear ones. The College has taken up the responsibility of nurturing the trees thereby adding to the flora and fauna of Nagpur City.
The.dignitaries also released the Annual Magazine ‘Antarang’ on the occasion. Shri Atmaram Rathod contributed by donating some saplings for the Drive. He also spoke on the need to nurture trees.
An oath was administered to the gathering regarding environment sustenance. The program was conducted by Mrs Sunita Masne and a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Narendra Gharat, HoD (Marathi).
