The menstrual health of girls & women with intellectual and developmental disabilities is in particular often ignored.
Due to their sheer dependency, the attitudes and practices of the parents and/caregivers is pivotal in understanding  how girls & women with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience menstruation.
Therefore with an objective to educate and create awareness about the importance of Menstrual Health and Hygeine for Girls & Women with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, SVK Shikshan Sanstha in association with CRC Nagpur (Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment) has organised a webinar.
Gayathri Vatsalya, President SVK Shikshan Sanstha rendered a welcome note, while Praful Shinde, Director CRC Nagpur gave a brief talk about CRC.
Kavita Godhmare introduced the Guest speaker Dr.Vaidehi Marathe, a renowned Obstetrician & Gynecologist and President of Obs&Gynaec Society, Nagpur.
Dr.Vaidehi Marathe shared an informative short film and guided the participants on understanding Menstrual Cycle and Managing the periods. She stressed upon the need of breaking the age old taboos about Menstruation and further highlighted the importance of diet and lifestyle changes in dealing with PMS.
It was a very interactive session with a lot queries from the participants. SVKite Isha Verma compered the event while Ankita Sur proposed vote of Thanks.
