RTMNU Foundation Day celebrated
Rakesh Sinha, Rajya Sabha member, while congratulating the award winners appealed to respect rich Indian culture, history and knowledge.
Sinha was speaking during the 98th Foundation Day of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, on Wednesday. RTMNU Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari presided over. Pro-VC Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Registrar Dr Raju Hiwase, Jeevansadhana awardee Satyanarayan Nuwal and Chandrakant Channe were seated on the dais.
Quoting the example of Takshashila University, Sinha said that RTMNU should contribute to for development of the nation in all sectors.
Chandrakant Channe, Founder of Basoli Group of child artist and renowned artist, was awarded Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Jeevansadhana Award for the year 2020. For the year 2021 renowned industrialist and social worker Satyanarayan Nuwal was honoured with the Jeevansadhana award.
The annual awards to best officers, employees, students from the University and affiliated colleges were also given on the occasion.
In his presidential address, Dr Chaudhari gave information about the university and its various innovative programmes, including the Technological Park, Incubation Centre, Indoor Sports Complex etc.
Replying to the felicitation Channe said that becoming a teacher was the most important event of his life. He is the richest person as parent of 1.50 lakh students.
Nuwal said that honest and dedicated work in any chosen field is the key to success.
Dr Komal Thakre conducted the proceedings. Dr Hiwase proposed a vote of tanks.
Social worker Girish Gandhi, Rajendra Purohit, Priti Wanjari, Prof Prafulla Sable, Pradip Biniwale, Rajendra Utkhede, Rajendra Pathak were prominent among those present.
