The number of flights operated from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in the city is likely to decrease in coming days due to th new decree to reduce the flight schedule by 20 percent.
The airport was handling about 22 flights every day till last week. However, the fear of Covid seems to have again affected the number of flights. On Wednesday, only 18 flights were operated from the city airport.
As per sources, more flights may be reduced in the near future.
On Wednesday, Go First’s flights G8-2519 Delhi Nagpur, G8-882 Pune Nagpur, G8 344 Mumbai Nagpur and Air India flight AI 469 Delhi-Nagpur and IndiGo Nagpur-Indore Nagpur flights were cancelled.
In August, Air India has reduced four flights in its schedule. This also includes cancellation of morning flight of Air India AI 627 Mumbai-Nagpur-Mumbai on Thursday and Saturday. At the same time, the Nagpur-Delhi-Nagpur flight on Wednesday morning has also been stopped for the time being.
A week ago, IndiGo started flights to Pune, Mumbai and Delhi, which were stopped in the lockdown. Apart from this, Indigo had started flights to Indore.
