Members of Nisarg sanrakshan Sanstha, Amravati, which had set up Muthwa Community Conservation & Environment Research Kendra 15 years ago, celebrated the anniversary of Kendra near Harisal by undertaking a tree plantation and felicitations programme on Wednesday.
Manoharrao Jadhav, noted entrepreneur, was the chief guest of the function while poet shyam Madhav Dhond, P N Deshmukh, former examination controller, SGBU, and Prof Wasudha Ghurde were the guests of honour. Dr Nishikant Kale, President of the sanstha, made introductory remarks and gave an account of various activities of the Sanstha during the last three decades. He also informed that the sanstha organised health camps in remote areas of Melghat as well as in 90 tribal villages situated in six tiger reserves in Central India.
On the occasion, the guests felicitated pillars of the sanstha including Dr Vasantrao Ghurde, Prof Umakant Bhoyar, Rajendra Wadnerkar, and Vilas Shrikhandkar by presenting them shawl, shreefal, bouquets and mementoes. Chinmay and Gaurvi Bhave accepted felicitations in absence of Prof Suresh Bhave.
Kishor Rithe, President of Satpuda Foundation, Dr Kale, Indrapratap Thakre and Kunal Patode spoke on the valuable services rendered by the pillars to the santha during the last three decades. On the occasion, Sachin Ingole, Nehru Yewale and Ashok Athwale, active workers of the Kendra, were also honoured.
It may be mentioned here that Nisarg Sanrakshan Satha is completing three decades on September 9.
