A person from the city knocked on every door to give justice to his wife who died last year two days after giving birth to a baby. However, he has not got any justice to his efforts.
Harshad Topare lost his wife Gayatri on July 9, 2020, while being treated at Seven Star Hospital, a day before he lost his new-born baby. Gayatri delivered the baby on July 7 at Abhiyog Hospital, Tiranga Chowk, Sakkardara, but Dr Harshal Ingole informed that the condition of child was critical and hence it should be shifted to Critical Care Unit at Health City Hospital. However, on July 8, the staff told Topare that the baby died.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Harshad alleged that his wife Gayatri died due to negligence of the doctor and then her baby was exchanged. He also charged “Due to negligence of Doctor Abhilasha Deshmukh and medical staff of Abhiyog Hospital his wife’s condition deteriorated and then she died.â€
Harshad also alleged that Dr Abhilasha ignored his request to check her but she failed to do so. Soon after giving birth to the child her health started deteriorating. Gayatri was then shifted to Seven Star Hospital without his knowledge where she died.
“The medical staff exchanged my baby boy with a baby girl and had forged with the original documents and medical reports,†Harshad said.
After the death of Gayatri, Harshad filed a petition in the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court. “The petitioner failed to obey the observation of committees report submitted by the Medical Council the HC observed†informed Advocate Ashok Revatkar.
Harshad will now file an appeal to Maharashtra Medical Council (MCI) for further investigation in the matter in hope of getting justice.
