City’s BCCI Panel umpire Ulhas Gandhe will be officiating in the Indian Premier League which is going to be held in UAE from September 19.
Gandhe will leave for Mumbai on September 9 from where he will fly for Dubai. He will have to serve six days of quarantine in Dubai.
Gandhe, a former Ranji Trophy player from Vidarbha, was also part of the IPL umpiring team which has to be suspended due to raging coronavirus in India earlier this year.
This will be Gandhe’s fourth successive stint as an IPL official. Last year also he had officiated in the cash rich league which was held in United Arab Emirates.
The experienced umpire, Gandhe has also officiated in the Women’s Challenger matches ( Women’s IPL) including the final.
In 2019 edition of IPL,Gandhe had officiated in eight.IPL games. During the exchange programme between BCCI and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Gandhe officiated in the UK County.games.
A former Vidarbha spinner, Gandhe has was umpire of India A vs South Africa A matches apart from officiating in Duleep Trophy, Challenger Trophy and Deodhar Trophy games. Gandhe has thanked BCCI, VCA and his employers Accountant General Office (A&E), Maharashtra, Nagpur for their support.
