A deputation of Lok Garjana organisation met Dayashankar Tiwari, Mayor, here on Monday and submitted a memorandum to him, pressing the demand that Nagpur Municipal Corporation should provide an opportunity to unemployed boys and girls to work in ‘Amrut Mahotsava 75’ being celebrated in different fields.
Pragati Ajay Patil, Corporator and Convener of the organisation, who led the deputation, informed Tiwari that there were many unemployed youths in the city seeking jobs but in vain. Therefore, NMC should make efforts to see that such boys and girls get jobs to earn their livelihood.
Rajesh Kumbhalkar, Secretary of Lok Garjana, said that NMC has launched various schemes under the control of the Mayor. It should take up 75 programmes for such youths, he said and urged Tiwari to give priority to this work.
Tiwari assured the deputationists that he would formulate new schemes in this regard. The deputation comprised: Ravi Ghadge Patil, Harvindersingh Mulla, Parag Nagpure, Altaf Ansari, Bhaskar Gedam, Nitin Ramteke, Chandu Mokhare, Kalpana Mankar, Suchita Nishane and others.
