The Regional Transport Office will take suitable action against private bus operators for charging exorbitant fares from passengers during festive season, informed Khanderao Deshmukh, Regional Transport Officer, on Tuesday.
ST buses are available for the passengers. Private bus owners play their vehicles on the same roads but RTO is receiving complaints from passengers about charging high fares for their travel. Deshmukh asked such passengers to lodge complaints with RTO and after investigating the cases it will take action aginast such operators under relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Act.
