Footpath vendors in the city will now get benefit from ‘Aatmanirbhar Nidhi Yojna’ of the Central Government through Social Welfare Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. An amount of Rs 10,000 is being made available for capital for re-starting the business to vendors, who suffered losses due to covid-19.
The vendors preparing snaks can do the business while Central Government has made agreement with Swiggy Company for delivering the edible materials in order to get momentum to the business. Social Welfare Department of NMC has obtained the information that 1900 street food vendors vendors are engaged in the business, Swiggy Company has appointed employees for connecting the vendors under this scheme. A facility of digital transactions is also made available and vendors will also be given training about it.
