NTPC Mouda concluded it’s week-long training program under Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav for farmers of nearby villages on 23 September 2021. Around 300 farmers from twelve nearby project affected villages like Tarsa, Hiwra, Babdeo, etc were taught about modern farming techniques which ensures better produce and sustenance of crops. This program was conducted by FarmBridge Social Support Foundation, a Gujarat based NGO which focuses on welfare of farmers and upliftment of rural communities.
The training consisted of field visits, live demonstrations of bio-culture formation, implementing new irrigation methods and in-house teaching through videos, presentations, experience sharing and success stories on each day. The training also introduced farmers to labor-saving hand tools which reduces the manual labour that goes into farming to a great extent.
Under this program, Farmer Self Help Groups were also formed which enabled them to do collective procurement and selling, crop diversification, get crop loans at lower interest and learnt adoption of new agri-technologies.
NTPC Mouda had conducted this training in February 2021 as well which recorded participation in heavy numbers from villages.
