The historical city office, of national air carrier Air India, has been sold in Rs 33.01 crore. City’s noted builder Shravan Ghanshyam Kukreja of Kukreja Infrastructure has purchased it.
‘Shravan Kukreja had confirmed the deal and said, the company would build its fourth high rise residential apartment at this place which will have a beautiful view.
As a part of its long cherished disinvestment plan, the debt-ridden Air India had announced e-auction of its multiple properties including the booking
office.
Air India had invited e-auction bids through MSTC Ltd for sale of the property.
Shravan Kukreja said, “We had put our bid and we are happy that we got it. Here we will be coming up again high rise residential apartment of 30-storey. This time each floor will have one owner, in the sense it will have 30 villas with garden on every floor.â€
Air India Nagpur, had acquired this location in front of the Institute Of Science in 1984-85 from Nazul on which the existing office was constructed in 1991.
Kukreja Infra came up with first sky-scrapper in Wardhman Nagar with the name Infinity East, second one came of 19-storey in Bairamji Town, third one came near Jaika Motors with the name Infinity West. Now the fourth and unique one bearing the name ‘The One’ would come up at the place where Air India’s booking office stands. “We have built up the reputation of completing our project as fast as we can and maintaining quality. Our earlier projects we had completed within three years of the four, during last two projects we faced the pandemic situation but that did not deter our determination,†said out Shravan Kukreja.
Air India had already facing the financial crunch and pandemic added to its woes. For the past several days, a small team of five to six persons is managing the affairs.
