India Peace Centre, National Service Scheme and SFS College Nagpur organized an All India Speech Competition to celebrate the Gandhi Jayanti 2021, for the students of Junior college( 11,12th class), UG and PG (all branches), PhD students, and citizens at large.
Explaining about the contest, the Director of India Peace Centre, Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal said, “The topic for the screening round was “Gandhi: Visionary for a Globalised World.” Over 100 entries were received from all over India. The jury comprising Dr. Yugal Rayulu, Lata Tokhi, and Pratishruti Singh Agrawal screened the applications and selected 10 participants for the finale. The finale was held on 8th October 2021 which was largely attended by participants from all over the country. The participants were asked to speak on “Truth & Nonviolence – Gandhiji’s Greatest Weapons†The judges selected the following three candidates as the winners: 1. Bisna Chandran, 2. Jay Katyayan, 3. Ibrahim Badhusha.
A quiz on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was organised by the Quizmaster Rohit Tokhi. The following three participants were declared the winners: 1. Rani Singh, 2. Jay Katyayan, 3. Ankit Kumar Garg.
The vote of thank was proposed by the co-ordinator Pramod Sakharkar
Dr Rawal said, “India Peace Centre is a non-profit organisation, established in 1988 that works primarily in the domain of Child & Youth Development, Gender, Water, Employment, Human Rights, Health, Energy & Environment, Specially Abled, Minority, Governance, Art & Culture and Agriculture. The primary focus area of the organisation is promoting interfaith dialogue and addressing global warming, nuclear disarmament, ecological and environmental concerns.â€
