The Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) jawans took action against 39 persons moving irresponsibly without wearing masks and recovered a fine of Rs 19,500 from them each at the rate of Rs 500 on Monday.
The action is being taken under the guidance of Veersen Tambe, Chief of NDS. So far, an amount of Rs 1.77 crore has been recovered from 35,433 citizens.
The squad members have been searching for such persons for the last some months, took action against 40,903 citizens and recovered a fine of Rs 1,88,10,500 from them.
A press note issued by Nagpur Municipal Corporation has said that though the spread of corona cases has decreased in the city, the threat of infection is still prevailing. It has been observed that the people do not maintain proper distance and that many move without wearing masks in the market areas. Therefore, the squad members are taking action against persons creating problems to their, their families and society health.
