The administration has released certain guidelines under which two-dose vaccination certificates, face masks and social distancing will be mandatory for followers visiting Deekshabhoomi.
The police will not allow anyone to enter the sanctum sanctorum without certificates during Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, said Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar.
Interacting with mediapersons, the CP said that joint teams of Nagpur Police and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have been formed for checking of certificates.
Apart from nearby areas and entry points of Deekshabhoomi, the joint teams will also be deployed at eight entry points of Nagpur city.
The teams will conduct Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) of the followers to prevent spread of COVID-19 in the city, he said.
The police have planned three layer security arrangements for Deekshabhoomi with bandobast of more than 2,500 police personnel along with Dog squads, Crime Branch, Traffic police, SRPF and Quick Response Team, the CP said, adding that the arrangements have been made as per the guidelines of the State Government.
The office-bearers of Parampujya Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti, Deekshabhoomi have already declared that the 65th Dhammachakra Pravartan Din would be celebrated this year in a simple manner.
