Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, on Thursday, has been conferred with honorary Doctor of Science by Mahatma Phule Rahuri Krishi
Vidyapeeth. Gadkari was conferred with the degree by Maharashtra Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari during the 35th Convocation of the University.
On the occasion, President of Nationalist Congress Party, Sharad Pawar was also conferred with Doctor of Science. Along with Maharashtra Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari; Vice-Chancellor of Rahuri Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dr Prashant Kumar Patil and many others also were present.
Gadkari was conferred with the honorary Doctor of Science for his contributions for improving economical condition of farmers and for encouraging research in Agriculture.
After the convocation, Gadkari addressed the review meeting of National Highway projects in Ahmednagar and Shirdi.
Agriculture Minister Dada Bhuse, MP Sujay Vikhe Patil, Sadashiv Lokhande and others attended the review meeting.
