Continuing its excellent performance in the field of freight loading the South East Central Railway Nagpur Division under the leadership of Maninder Uppal Divisional Railway Manager, has earned Rs 50.63 crore in the month of October.
Around 0.84 million goods were loaded in the month of October, resulting in a revenue of Rs 50.63 crore, which is 9.09 percent is higher in shipments and 10.98 percent in earnings than last year.
In addition to the traditional way of working many new items are being transported by the Railways. The speed of freight trains in the existing network has also been significantly increased. Railway has also initiated various offers as well for the stakeholders.
Apart from this, Rs 15.67 lakhs revenue was generated from loading 637 tonnes of parcels in the month of October alone. Railway also received Rs 6.19 lakhs from commercial advertisement, Rs 6.13 lakhs from catering, while Rs 2.43 lakhs from parking.
In the month of October 2021, Nagpur Division launched ticket checking campaigns at various trains and railway stations. Under this campaign 42,439 cases were registered against those who were travelling without ticket, un-booked luggage. With this campaign railway recovered Rs. 2 crore 04 lakh 86 thousand fine, making a record by earning 30.00% more income than the target set by the headquarters.
