Nagpur Municipal Corporation has given permission to celebrate Chhath puja, an ancient Hindu festival in Nagpur city as well.
NMC has also issued important guideline for the celebration. “From sunset on November 9 Chhath Puja will be celebrated till sunrise on November 10, 2021†the order stated.
As the corona cases has been under complete control in Nagpur city for the last two and a half months the Chhath puja celebration has been allowed for public in Nagpur.
Though the government has allowed various religious places to remain open, woman should take care that they celebrate Chhath Puja at their home in simple way.
Citizens particularly woman, should avoid crowding at the banks of rivers, lakes and other water bodies to perform Chhath Puja. Especially senior citizens as well as children should avoid leaving the house as much as possible. Meanwhile, Nagpur Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari urged Chief Minister Uddahv Thackeray that the Chhath puja restrictions in Nagpur be relaxed.
