Nagpur Division organized a mock drill, a real-time relief and rescue operation at 11.00 hrs on 18.11.2021 (Thursday) at Ajni Yard in Co-Ordination with NDRF team, Civil Defence Organisation, Medical team of Accident Relief Train, and ARME.
Two coaches of 01046 Diksha Bhumi Express derailment between Nagpur and Khapri stations, Coach No S/1 and General Second Class rear end of train were affected and rescue operations were carried out with men and material to check the preparedness of the railway personnel to meet the eventualities and for rescuing the passengers with simultaneous relief operations, the Nagpur Division involved 200 employees of various departments and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Civil Administration for rescuing the passengers in the affected coaches, carrying relief operations and ultimately restoring the normalcy of the track for swift movement of traffic.
Richa Khare DRM, P.S. Khairkar ADRM (T), Barapatre Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Krishnath Patil Sr. DCM, Laxminarayan Sr. DME, and other branch officers took part in the mock drill.
Richa Khare, DRM said, “It is a drill to check the preparedness of all the departments to react in a disaster and to develop communication skills as well as coordination. Such drills will continue to keep them ready to meet any odd situationsâ€.
The NDRF was led by an inspector of 10th NDRF command Vipin Kumar with a fleet of 26 personnel and the latest equipment participated to make aware of all the frontline service personnel to have an exercise to tackle the situation. The RPSF, RPF, state police, and civil defence personnel joined the rescue and relief operations.
