Social welfare commissioner Dr Prashant Narnawre issued an order to the concerned officials to conduct special drives and provide students with caste certificates following difficulties in obtaining it as it is needed for availing various government schemes while undertaking education.
All the government hostels and residential schools of the social welfare department as well as aided hostels have been reopened. Also, the admission process has begun.
The regional deputy commissioner for social welfare Dr Siddharth Gaikwad also directed headmaster of residential schools to immediately begin the process of issuing caste certificates to students who do not have the document. Dr Siddharth Gaikwad has directed the assistant commissioner of Nagpur Division to contact the concerned sub-divisional officer and organise the camp for issuing caste certificates before November 30.
