Indian equity markets witnessed their biggest intraday fall in nearly seven months on Monday (November 22) with the BSE Sensex falling as much as 1,625 points in intraday trade before closing the day 1.96% or 1,170.12 points lower at 58,465.89.
NSE benchmark Nifty50 index settled the day 1.96% or 348.25 points lower at 17,416.55 after making an intraday low of 17,280.45. Benchmark indices opened lower today tracking weak global market on the back of inflation worries and the resurgence of Covid-19 infection in some European countries.
